Evans' G1 drumheads are single-ply heads that are just 10 mil (0.254 mm) thick. They allow for a bright, open sound with excellent sustain and relatively little attack. This particular model features a coating that gives it an extra deep, warm sound. It's mostly suited for lighter styles of music such as jazz and latin, where attack is less important than tone and stick response.
