The Height of Performance and Tone.
The Ibanez AE series is a design based on that concept, the height of playability and tone.
Modern acoustic guitar playing includes many different styles of music and playing styles, which means that guitarists need instruments that span a wide spectrum.
The AE series' top models were developed after many rounds of professional artists who tried and were asked to comment on the design and features. Their feedback and evaluations meant that the series took 3 years to perfect. All that knowledge and experience is now used in all AE instruments.

The body shape is created to achieve high playability combined with a well-balanced and well-sounding sound that "settles" equally well in the studio as on stage, whether you play solo guitar or in an ensemble.
A specially designed XM bracing gives a wide sound and good projection (how the instrument throws the sound). A rich and long sustain that works well for both plectrum and fingerpicking.

The top is made of solid Sitka spruce, the body of flamed Okoume, which gives a woody, warm, tone that has a soft and dynamic response when played with the fingers and punchy, high-mid, with clear projection when played with a plectrum.

Getting electronics, preamps and microphones into acoustic instruments is always a compromise with the acoustic sound of the instrument. On the AE model, this compromise has been made as small as possible by using a very compact active preamp and a newly designed magnetic pickup.
