The SR4500 series is the top of the line in the SR series and it is a bass where nothing has been spared, from wood selection, mechanics to pickups and a new preamp/EQ system, everything is of the highest class. An instrument that is a joy to both look at and play, and even more so, listen to.

The pickups are Nordstrand? soapbar style, single coil pickups with a big and powerful ?full-body? sound without losing the clarity of a single coil. The preamp and EQ system is calibrated for the Nordstrand? pickups and is equipped with a bypass switch.
The Prestige series has a completely new custom-designed active EQ system, Sonitech, which is made specifically for the bass.
The EQ can be switched on or off so that you can completely bypass the entire EQ system and get the pickups directly to the output jack with a small on/off toggle switch. The EQ system consists of 4 pots, a +/- 12db boost/cut for the bass, a +/- 12db boost/cut for the treble and adjustable Q value and a +/- 12db boost/cut for the all-important midrange. Everything has a common volume and a pot for balance between the neck and bridge pickup.

The bridge is an updated version of the Ibanez Mono-Rail, MR5S.
What has been updated is adjustment options, a larger range for intonation (gold for those who want to tune down with thick strings) and a larger range for setup. It is also considerably easier to handle and adjust.
The bridge is designed to isolate the strings from each other. The isolation provides optimal transmission of the string vibrations into the body without the strings affecting each other. A stable and very easy-to-adjust bridge.

The SR is probably the bass model most people think of when someone says "Ibanez bass" and for over 35 years it has been the market-leading model among "small body" basses (basses with smaller, slimmer bodies). They are lightweight, easy-to-play basses that are extremely comfortable to wear and play, perfect for people who play a lot or long sessions. SR is available in designs from cheap entry-level basses to absolute beast basses and everything in between, whatever price range you want to get into, there is an SR bass for you. They are also available in several different woods and pickup configurations.
