NRB-40 is a complete set of strings, for electric bass, in thickness 40 to 100. NRB-40 is made with a hexagonal core wire, which is wound with a silver-coated steel wire. The strings are then coated with DR's K3 compound, which makes the strings extra resistant to dirt and sweat. The K3 coating applied to all strings in the set is extremely hard and does not dampen vibrations, as a softer coating is wont to do.
