The voice is also an instrument and with Korg's Vocal Pitch Trainer you can practice your pitch and check that you are in the right pitch.
The handy, upright format allows you to hold it in your hand and clearly see the display.
The VPT1 has a built-in microphone so you don't need any extra accessories. When you sing, note lines with a G clef and an F clef are visible. The note you are singing is shown in the staff and the LEDs to the left of the display tell you if the note you are singing is too high or too low. When you're in the right pitch, the middle blue LED lights up. If you want to use it for practice, you can set three different levels of difficulty, Easy, Medium and Hard depending on how confident you are.
You can also play a reference tone through the built-in speaker or by plugging in a pair of headphones. This feature is great both for practicing but also if a song starts with vocals, so you can find the right note to start in. Also a great tool for choirs.
When headphones are plugged in, there is a feature called Sound Back. This means that your Vocal Trainer plays back the closest, clean note to the one you're singing. Great practice feature!

Battery life is incredibly good with an operating time of up to 300 hours depending on the type of AAA battery you use.
