The Byzance Vintage Series has a unique sound characterised by sandblasting and the fact that each cymbal is hand-hammered. Sandblasting has a similar effect to gentle playing over a long period of time, that is, the cymbal softens slightly and loses unwanted overtones without losing tension in the top register. The B18SATC, designed in collaboration with Benny Greb, is a long-awaited addition to the successful Sand Ride and Sand Hi-hat cymbals.

The Vintage series is hand-hammered from B20 alloy and is sandblasted to provide warmth and a round attack. Each model has a unique character with musical overtones generally characterised by a deep rich sound, controlled volume and sustain for superb dynamics.
The B18SATC fits in any setup but especially matches the sister cymbal B18SAMC and the other Vintage Sand cymbals.
